Williams Pavilion

The Williams Pavilion, named for the late G. Mennen and Nancy Williams, both active members of the Cathedral, is a fourteen story mid-rise building which has 150 apartments for low-income seniors.  This attractive building, a block from the Cathedral, has just undergone a multi-million dollar renovation.  It maintains an occupancy rate of almost 100%, and always has a waiting list.

The location in Detroit’s Mid Town community is a strong plus for convenience and activity, amid the presence of the Main Library, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Medical Center, the Veterans’ Administration Hospital, and Wayne State University.

In addition to the Cathedral, Plymouth Congregational Church, Bethel A.M.E., Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church and First Congregational Church offer varieties of Christian congregational life.

A Board of Trustees named by the Cathedral Vestry provides oversight and relationship with the Village Green Management Company, the management firm which has operated the apartment house from the entrance of the first tenant, in 1985.  They also meet with the social worker to consider various concerns of the residents.
